Kidman Set For New Woody Allen Project

Nicole Kidman is coming to London, as female lead in the Woody Allen's as yet untitled next project. Joining an already stellar cast including Anthony Hopkins, Josh Brolin, Antonio Banderas and Slumdog newcomer Freida Pinto, Kidman will play alongside her real life best friend Naomi Watts.

Speculation is rife about a plot, but as with other Allen films, storyline and name may remain a mystery for some time - but it looks likely that it will involve a fair amount of romantic tension, if casting and past projects are anything to go by.

The new project will hope to outdo Alllen's other recent jaunts in London - **Scoop **and **Match Point **- since his return to form in Vicky Christina Barcelona. Indeed, this project is bankrolled by the same Spanish backers who made VCB.

And Kidman will seek to strip off the "box-office poison" moniker she has picked up after a string of less than successful outings such as last year's** Australia **and 2007's The Golden Compass.

Allen is next up this summer with Whatever Works, starring Henry Cavill, Evan Rachel Wood, Larry David and Patricia Clarkson, while Kidman is due later this year in Rob Marshall musical Nine.
