Kidman Quits The Reader

Nicole Kidman announced yesterday that she's expecting a baby with husband Keith Urban (congrats!), but today she has decided to bow out of one of her upcoming films, The Reader, in which she was set to star.

The film, directed by Stephen Daldry, is the Germany during World War II-set story of a teenager's affair with a mysterious older woman, who he encounters again years after the War. Ralph Fiennes is starring, and German actor David Kross (Tough Enough) plays the young protagonist, Michael.

Shooting started before Christmas, but Kidman had not yet filmed any scenes, so there's still time to find a replacement for her. Suggestions please!

In the meantime, the mum-to-be will be resting after finishing work on Baz Luhrman's Australia and, oh yes, glowing slightly in the manner that only pregnant women can.
