Casting is finally locked on Seth Gordon's "workplace murder comedy", with the news that Kevin Spacey has filled the last vacancy at **Horrible Bosses{ =nofollow}. He'll be joining fellow CEOs Colin Farrell and Jennifer Aniston, scam artist Jamie Foxx (a character who may or may not still be called Motherfucker Jones), and hapless lackeys Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudiekis.

The film, which has been knocking around at New Line for years, occasionally getting the attention of the likes of Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughan, finally started coming together earlier this year. It involves Bateman and his downtrodden cohorts planning the murders of each other's bosses, sort of in the stylee of Strangers on a Train and Throw Momma, but with the added farcical potential of three killings instead of two: criss cross criss cross criss cross!

Spacey's "meaty and integral" role (for which the studio were also talking to Tom Cruise, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Jeff Bridges) is that of a "master manipulator", which we're happy to imagine ought to allow for some of the relishable corporate villainy he brought to Swimming With Sharks.

John Francis Daley, Jonathan M Goldstein and Michael Markowitz have all had a hand in the screenplay, and shooting starts in LA on July 6.
