Somebody really wants to work with Ansel Elgort. How else do you explain the n fact that Kevin Spacey is joining Baby Driver and **Billionaire Boys Club.

Okay, so it’s simply two writer-directors looking to land the Oscar winner’s services for their films, but this is still an intriguing coincidence. Baby Driver, of course, is Edgar Wright’s latest, which stars Elgort as a young getaway driver who uses his personal soundtrack to be the best wheelman in the business. But when a heist he’s involved with goes badly wrong, his life is thrown into danger from a dangerous crime boss (Jamie Foxx). Spacey is close to playing the boss of the heist crew, a veteran criminal who has his own team, including Jon Hamm. The cast for that one also includes Lily James. Wright, who has been working on the script for several years, is gearing up to direct probably starting early next year in Atlanta.

As for Billionaire Boys Club, that finds Elgort (him again) starring alongside Taron Egerton with James Cox writing and directing. The story follows the true-crime tale of Joe Hunt, who built an investment pool that gave him celebrity status in cash-and-cocaine rich 1980s Los Angeles. But when his house of cards (yeah, we went there) comes crashing down, he ends up murdering one of his big investors, Ron Levin, which is the role Spacey has his eye on.

Those, of course, are still waiting to shoot. But Spacey already has Elvis & Nixon awaiting release alongside businessman-becomes-cat comedy Nine Lives and DreamWorks Animation’s Boss Baby. Oh and there’s the small matter of being back in Francis Underwood’s political shoes for the next season of Netflix’s House Of Cards. (Looks to camera) “Someone is a busy man. If he’s not careful, he could burn out faster than a barbecue with a charcoal deficiency…”
