Sounding for all the world like a film that Adam Sandler or even Eddie Murphy might be starring in, Nine Lives instead finds Kevin Spacey as the human who is magically transformed into something else. The first teaser trailer can be seen here{
As seems typical for family fodder of this nature, Nine Lives finds Spacey as Tom Brand, a stuffy, work-orientated businessman who suddenly finds himself trapped inside the body of his family's cat. As Christopher Walken's character explains in the footage, he's trapped for a reason, and will have to work hard to earn his place back in the human world. Want to bet he needs to learn some lessons about being a better man and treating people around him with more respect?
Subtlety doesn't seem to be the order of the day here, as Spacey-cat undergoes various humiliations and generally tries to figure out what's going on. Barry Sonnenfeld is the man marshaling the moggie madness, and the cast also features Jennifer Garner, Robbie Amell and Cheryl Hines.
Nine Lives should be with us on August 5.
