Jay And Silent Bob Reboot

Beyond his career as a filmmaker, Kevin Smith remains one of the most prolific movie-talkers around – and if you’re looking for more film chat to fill the void of social distancing, he’s just come up with an extra couple of hours of free content in the form of a commentary track for his latest movie. Last year, Smith released Jay & Silent Bob Reboot – his long-awaited return to the Askewniverse, filmed in the wake of his near-fatal heart-attack, and featuring appearances from several familiar faces from all across his filmography. Now you can watch it back with added input from the man himself:

Smith recorded the commentary track live – with a joint in hand, of course – on YouTube, and now you can cue it up at home (it begins properly at the 13:07 mark) while watching the film. This is the first commentary track for the movie – the recent Blu-ray release didn’t have one, so this is a welcome treat for Smith fans. While it’s not available on any streaming subscriptions at the moment, Jay & Silent Bob Reboot is out in the UK on Digital HD to rent and buy.

In the intro for the commentary track, Smith also reiterated his plans to make Clerks III once the Coronavirus lockdown is over, with a similar plan to take the film on tour (which he did with Jay & Silent Bob Reboot) once it’s finished. You hear that, Covid-19? Scram already.
