Kevin Pollak For Red State?

He raced with the devil once before (in Arnie's millennial comeback End of Days), and now it seems Kevin Pollak looks set to get Biblical again, in Kevin Smith's **Red State.

Pollak confirmed via his Twitter account that Smith's offer "still has that new car smell", and later revealed himself to be in receipt of Smith's top secret script. "It's watermarked! Death pill in pocket while filming, maybe?"

Red State is Smith's long-gestating religious-satire-cum-horror-cum-nobody-quite-knows-what, based to some extent on the gay-bashing Westboro Baptist Church and its pastor Fred Phelps. Tarantino / Rodriguez favourite Michael Parks is widely believed to have the villainous not-Phelps-at-all role, so it's unclear in what capacity Pollak is likely to come aboard.

He has Smith previous though, interviewing the director for his weekly internet Kevin Pollak's Chat Show and turning up in Cop Out. So "likely" would seem to be the word. Last we heard, the cast also looked set to include Dermot Mulroney, Stephen Root, Kyle Gallner, Michael Angarano and Melissa Leo.

Shooting starts, out in the woods, on September 22.
