The Fantastic Four cast has been confirmed. The Fantastic Four's Galactus has been confirmed. And now, thanks to the MCU's mastermind, Kevin Feige himself, The Fantastic Four's shooting start date and setting have finally been confirmed too. In an interview for Marvel's new podcast, handily named The Official Marvel Podcast, Feige revealed that production on director Matt Shakman's (WandaVision) cinematic reboot for Marvel's First Family is set to get underway in July. And what's more, following several heavily 60s inspired teaser posters, Feige has also confirmed that The Fantastic Four will be taking viewers back to the (sadly presumably not web-) swingin' sixties.

When asked whether The Fantastic Four might be a period piece, Feige enthusiastically responded "Yes, yes, very much so — it's a period piece!" Continuing however, the president of Marvel Studios further teased that whilst Shakman's movie will be set in the 60s, that doesn't necessarily mean it'll be our sixties. "There were a lot of smart people, who noticed that that cityscape didn't look exactly like the New York that we know, or that existed in the '60s in our world," Feige noted, referring to the Johnny Storm Human Torch poster that Marvel dropped back in April. "Those are smart observations, I'll say," he added, very heavily implying that a potential multiversal setting for the Fantastic Four's MCU introduction is far more than mere fan speculation. Just check out the poster in question below and tell us if you recognise that skyline — 'cause we sure don't;

"I'm extremely excited by [The Fantastic Four] because I think those characters are mainstays, legendary pillars of the Marvel Universe that we've never gotten to play with or explore in a significant way outside of Doctor Strange: Multiverse Of Madness and a few fun teases before," Feige also shared in the interview, hyping up his personal most anticipated MCU project. "Certainly not in the way that we're doing in this film. So I'm extremely excited for that." And honestly, we're extremely excited for it too. We want to see Galactus throwing Reed Richards' shoes over a pub — or a planet! Roll on 25 July, 2025.
