You’ve seen the Bonnie and Clyde story from the point of view of Bonnie and Clyde in, erm, Bonnie And Clyde. And now, in Netflix’s latest starry original film, we’ll get to see it from the perspective of the two lawmen who tracked the murderous bank-robbers down in crime drama The Highwaymen. The film stars Kevin Costner as Frank Hamer and Woody Harrelson as Maney Gault, hot on the trail of the killers – and you can watch them on the case in the first trailer.
As the trailer shows, there’s a top cast around Costner and Harrelson for this one, including the likes of Kathy Bates, Kim Dickens, and John Carroll Lynch. The film comes from director John Lee Hancock, who also made The Founder, Saving Mr. Banks, and The Blind Side, and he co-wrote the screenplay alongside John Fusco.
Find out if The Highwaymen lives up to Arthur Penn’s 1967 crime classic Bonnie And Clyde when the cops’ side of things hits Netflix (and a few participating cinemas) on 29 March.
