Looks like another group of actors are getting the chance to improve their Bacon Number in the famous Six Degrees game, as Kevin Bacon is signing on to co-star in comic book adaptation **R.I.P.D.

The film – which finds Ryan Reynolds as a recently deceased copper assigned to a squad of officers who police the spirit world – has been adapted from the Dark Horse graphic novel.

Jeff Bridges is already aboard, playing Reynolds’ more experienced partner. There’s no word on exactly who Bacon will be, but since Variety’s report mentions he’s the villain, we’re guessing he may be the man who murdered Reynolds’ character in the first place.

Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi are the men responsible for the script, which Red’s Robert Schwentke is getting set to start later this year.

Bacon, meanwhile, seems to be having a run of villainy, having played a charming drug dealer in Super and the evil Sebastian Shaw in X-Men: First Class. Boo! Hiss! He's behind you! Etc...
