Victoria Mahoney made history becoming the first woman ever to score a directing credit on a Star Wars film, leading the second unit on The Rise Of Skywalker. She's already attached to graphic novel adaptation Kill Them All, and she's now scored another opportunity, landing the job directing Kerry Washington and Sterling K. Brown in Shadow Force.
Written by Joe Carnahan and Leon Chills, Shadow Force follows an estranged husband and wife (Washington and Brown) with a bounty on their heads. They are forced to go on the run with their son to avoid their former employer — a unit of shadow ops that has been sent to kill them.
"Victoria is one of the most impressive and in-demand directors working today,” says Lionsgate's Erin Westerman. "Like with all of her work, she will bring iconic action, warmth, style, and gravitas to Shadow Force. We know she, along with Kerry and Sterling and the talented production team will elevate this exciting production."
From the sounds of it, this will leapfrog over Kill Them All to become Mahoney's official feature debut, especially given that it has a cast attached. She's also been busy on the small screen front with episodes of Lovecraft Country, Queen Sugar and more.
