Keri Russell Sees Dark Skies

The low-budget horror team behind the likes of Paranormal Activity are showing no signs of slowing down as they keep finding other concepts to plumb. Producer Jason Bloom has already hired director Scott Stewart to handle new supernatural tale **Dark Skies **based on his own script and the duo just tracked down their first cast member, with Keri Russell signing on.

Plot details are being kept mostly under wraps, though apparently it involves an alien sneakily disguised as a human and a boy tagged as a target for abduction. Could Russell play his mother?

Stewart, who kicked off his career as a digital effects artist and producer, will have to work to restore his credibility a little after the double disappointments of Legion and Priest. Perhaps his latest stab at horror will provide just that opportunity.

Russell is better known for the likes of Felicity on TV and Mission: Impossible III / Waitress on the big screen, though she has a couple of thrillers to her name in Grimm Love and Dead Man’s Curve, so she knows how to react. She’ll next be seen in something slightly less terrifying, as she’s starring in Austenland, about a woman who heads to a Jane Austen theme park on holiday.
