It's a busy time in cinema news for Keri Russell now she doesn't have devote her time to being a Russian sleeper agent for TV drama The Americans. Hot on the heels of her entering talks for a role in Star Wars Episode IX, she's also started the early stages of a deal for new horror pic Antlers.

Out Of The Furnace's Scott Cooper is directing the film, adapted by Nick Antosca and Henry Chaisson from Antosca's short story, Antlers sees a young teacher discovering that a student's family hides a terrifying secret, one that she has to fight for survival against when she takes the boy into her care, and that might affect the future of their town.

Guillermo del Toro is on as a producer for the movie, which is being backed by Fox Searchlight. As for Russell, she'll have time to work on the new Star Wars for old pal JJ Abrams before segueing to Antlers this autumn in Vancouver.
