Catherine Keener is re-teaming with Being John Malkovich director Spike Jonze on his next film.
Jonze is tackling Where The Wild Things Are, Maurice Sendak’s children’s tale of Max, a frustrated boy sent to bed without supper, who imagines sailing off to a land of magical monsters. The creatures end up making him king. Keener will play his mother in the film.
And Jonze will employ the talents of the Jim Henson Company to supply puppets to bring the beasts to life. Filming is planned for late this year in New Zealand.
