Whether he’s ‘Woah’-ing in Bill & Ted, ‘Woah’-ing in The Matrix, or ‘Woah’-ing in Point Break, Keanu Reeves’ voice consistently brings as much pleasure to his movies as those fast-flying fists and rapid-fire bullets. And he’ll be bringing said vocal cords (and definitely not those fists or bullets) to Toy Story 4 according to Buzz Lightyear himself, Tim Allen. Speaking on The Tonight Show, Allen told Jimmy Fallon that Keanu is part of the cast of Pixar’s long-await four-quel.

“Keanu Reeves has got a great part,” Allen teased, hinting that his character is in the action hero mould. “Even he said, gentle wonderful guy that he is, ‘This sounds too much like Buzz Lightyear’. And his character does have an edge to that.” He also gestured that Reeves’ character might be diminutive in stature, and backed up Tom Hanks’ recent claims that the film’s ending is another emotionally-potent one. “It is so good, these guys are geniuses, it’s so deep and moving, and a wonderful plot […] They really will surprise you with the toys they come up with, characters came back, new guys in it that are great.”

The first two Toy Story 4 teasers have introduced viewers to a few of the cast’s new additions – Tony Hale’s arts-and-crafts creation Forky, and Keegan Michael Key and Jordan Peele as duo Ducky and Bunny. Toy Story 4 is due to arrive in UK cinemas on 21 June 2019.
