When it announced it was putting on Neil LaBute's controversial play Bash in February, the small but influential Almeida Theatre in London would have expected some press attention, but hardly the level it's been getting recently. The play, which was a huge success for Calista Flockheart on Broadway this year, was due to be recast on its transfer to London. Following a rumour on Mr Showbiz that the lovely Kate Winslet would be appearing in the role left vacant by Flockheart, the Almeida has been inundated with calls.' 'There's no truth in it at all,' Almeida spokeswoman Janine Shalom. 'We've only just announced next year's line-up and the plays are still in the process of being cast.'
