John McTiernan may not have made a good movie in many a year – why Rollerball, John, why? – but for making Die Hard he can be forgiven almost anything and we must hold out hope that his next project will be a return to form. So we will keep our fingers crossed for Run, the $30million action thriller that he's about to start work on.
McTiernan has snapped up Karl Urban, who himself may not have had the best run of movies recently but is still one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet – and, by god, doesn't that count for something?! Urban will play an Interpol agent who uncovers a conspiracy while hunting a murder suspect.
One very interesting point about the movie is that the script apparently features 100 pages of car chases. Given that a page of screenplay equates to one minute of screentime that's a whole lot of rubber burnin' and a whole lot of something we want to see. It's also a lot of pollution, so we'll hope they'll be using cars powered by battery/oil/the laughs of happy babies. We don't want to make Al Gore cry now, do we?
