As it’s scheduled to arrive later this year on Netflix, the second Marvel series for the streaming service, A.K.A. Jessica Jones, has been busy recruiting the rest of its cast. Today brings word that Erin Moriarty, Eka Darville and Wil Traval are all signed up.
The show has Krysten Ritter starring as the titular Jones, a woman still picking up the pieces after a short-lived stint as a superhero. Suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after using her powers, she decides to leave the life behind. But she doesn’t entirely forsake her past: she opens up a New York detective agency, which tackles cases for both ordinary people and superheroes.
David Tennant was hired recently to play Zebediah Kilgrave, also known as The Purple Man, who will be one of the big threats to Jessica. Rachael Taylor is on board as Patricia “Trish” Walker, Jones’ closest friend, Carrie-Anne Moss as a mysterious woman and Mike Colter is playing Luke Cage.
Moriarty, probably best known for** The Kings Of Summer**, is set as Hope, a young woman who hires Jones’ Alias Investigations. Darville, a veteran of US TV drama The Originals, is Malcolm, one of Jones’ neighbours who becomes involved in her life and work. And Traval, finally, will play an NYPD officer.
Melissa Rosenberg is in charge of the series, which follows Daredevil (due April 10) on to the Netflix service and becomes part of the Defenders set of shows with the Man Without Fear, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
