As he prepares to start work on the third Jurassic World film (the second he has directed), Colin Trevorrow has already been back to the world, and has new dino-featuring short film Battle At Big Rock.
With André Holland, Natalie Martinez, Melody Hurd and Pierson Salvador in the cast, the short was co-written by Emily Carmichael (who has been working on the new movie's script with Trevorrow) and boasts Kong Skull Island's Larry Fong as cinematographer and Amie Doherty as composer.
Trevorrow has since sat down with Collider to offer some additional details. Set a year after the events of Fallen Kingdom, it'll see a family encountering two dino species the films have yet to feature – Nasutoceratops and an Allosaurus in Big Rock national park, about 20 miles from where Kingdom ended. Shot in secret in Ireland last winter, it'll be considered part of the Jurassic canon. For more from Trevorrow on the film, head here.
The short will premiere on the US cable network FX this coming Sunday, 15 September and should be online in its full eight-minute length after that.
