Following plenty of chatter about its loaded cast, we now know that the third Jurassic World film has begun shooting under the direction of Colin Trevorrow. And the filmmaker has shared a look at the first day's slate, which indicates that the movie is currently known as Jurassic World: Dominion.
Co-written by Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael (with a story assist from regular Trevorrow writing partner Derek Connolly), the plot for the new outing is being kept secret, though as with the shortBattle At Big Rock, it'll follow the world post-Fallen Kingdom, with the dinosaurs loose in the world and causing all sorts of havoc.
World anchors Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are starring, but the cast also posts a gathering drawn from past World entries (Daniella Pineda, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, BD Wong, Justice Smith) and from the classic trilogy too (Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum), with one or two new faces (Dichen Lachman and DeWanda Wise among them).
As he did with the first World, Trevorrow has been keeping up a steady stream of peeks behind the scenes, so expect more as production continues. Jurassic World: Dominion will be out on 11 June next year. Will legendary character Edmund return? Well, given that the man behind him is a little busy as Empire's acting editor, we'd say... maybe?
