Announced last November with J.K. Simmons at the head of the cast, The Bachelor is now starting to fill in the rest of its roster. The first new addition is Julie Delpy, sticking with indie dramedy after her most recent turn in Todd Solndz' Wiener-Dog. Kurt Voelker is the writer and director.

Simmons will be playing a recently widowed man who decides that he needs to bond with his estranged teenage son. Moving to a new city, they both strike up romances with "extraordinary women", but when those relationships are tested, it’s the father-son bond that helps them both.

Delpy. we'd assume, is one of those amazing ladies, with the other likely to be announced in the near future. Likewise we'd expect to learn who's playing Simmons' son before too long.

"We are thrilled to have such strong performers joining this project,” says production company Fortitude Internatinal's Nadine de Barros. "[Simmons and Delpy] are the perfect talents to bring this beautifully written story to the big screen."

Deals are currently being done at the Berlin Film Market, and shooting starts next month in Los Angeles.
