For a new film, Julianne Moore is planning a remake. She and director Bart Freundlich are now attached to a US take on Susanne Bier's 2006 Danish drama After The Wedding.

Offering a twist to the original tale, the new version will cast Moore and another woman in the leads for the film, which is set in New York. It'll follow Isabel, who runs an orphanage outside Calcutta, who travels to the Big Apple to meet the millionaire (Moore) who funded the place. But, after the wealthy woman gets married, a mystery starts to unravel. The original film was nominated for an Oscar, so the new one has some big shoes to fill.

Freundlich, who also wrote the updated screenplay, aims to have the cameras rolling this spring in Manhattan. Moore, last seen in Suburbicon, will be back on screens in regular collaborator Todd Haynes' Wonderstruck, which arrives here on 6 April.
