Mighty Boosh fans rejoice! While the full power of the Boosh team might not be assembled for this one – we’d expect several of the cast to show up on screen – Julian Barratt and Boosh regular Simon Farnaby have written a new comedy called **Mindhorn.
Theatre director-turned-film man Sean Foley is aboard to call the shots for BBC Films, Scott Free and Pinewood Pictures, with shooting scheduled for next month in the Isle of Man. Deadline offers no casting details, but you just know the guys will be raiding their contacts files for all manner of solid performing talent.
And the plot? Very Booshy, thanks for asking. The plot follows former MI5 special operative Bruce Mindhorn, who had one of his eyes forcibly replaced with an advanced optical lie detector, allowing him to “see the truth”. He fled to the Isle of Man and has since reinvented himself as the best private detective the island has seen.
We’d very much like to see this now, please, but we suppose we’ll have to wait until next year for the film to, you know, be made and everything.
