Julia Stiles And Isabelle Fuhrman On For Orphan: First Kill

Given its basic plot, we were somewhat surprised to learn that someone was looking to make a prequel to 2009 horror Orphan. That someone is William Brent Bell, and he has the original film's Isabelle Fuhrman returning alongside new franchise arrival Julia Stiles for Orphan: First Kill.

Fuhrman will be back to play Esther, who (spoiler alert) is actually Leena Klammer, and who orchestrates a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But Leena’s new life as “Esther” comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother who will protect her family at any cost...

David Coggeshall has written the script, and if you're wondering how Fuhrman, who is obviously a decade older than the character she played in the original, will once again bring Esther to life, that'll be pulled off using forced perspective (which helped LOTR's Hobbits and dwarfs look smaller) and make-up. Bell is already shooting the film in Winnipeg.
