Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner and Rosemarie DeWitt are already cast, but there are still gaps on the call sheet of Jason Reitman's Men, Women And Children. If the stars align, it looks like Judy Greer will be the next actor to join the production.

The film, Reitman's next following the just-premiered Labor Day, is based on the novel by Chad Kultgen. It involves junior high school pupils and their parents negotiating the minefields of social networking and the more "adult" outposts of the internet.

Greer, if she signs on, will be playing the rather odd-sounding role of Joan Clint who, rather than taking the protective-parent stance, actually "posts alluring photos of her daughter online". Whether she's able to join the film, however, seems to depend on the status of Andrew Gurland's currently untitled drama show for the FX channel, of which Greer is a part. The pilot looks likely to be picked up for a full series, but Greer intends to fit Men, Women And Children around that commitment if she possibly can.

Garner, of course, worked with Reitman before to excellent effect in Juno. And if this seems like an odd choice for Adam Sandler, cast your minds back to Punch Drunk Love and Funny People, and remember that he does have the chops for more dramatic work when he can chooses to emerge from his usual niche.

Reitman co-wrote Men, Women And Children's screenplay with Erin Cressida Wilson (Secretary), and shooting seems to be set for November.
