Various bits and pieces are coming out of the Repo Men press conferences. Liev Schreiber has confirmed that he won't be in Scream 4 (Cotton Weary is dead, so duh), and doesn't think Sabretooth is in the script of Wolverine 2 (he's not in the semi-source Claremont / Miller comic mini-series, so possible duh, but not so much). But maybe the best bit of exclusive titbittery comes from Coming Soon, who got some good hint-dropping out of Jude Law.
First up,** Sherlock Holmes**. Kieran and Michele Mulroney, the husband and wife team who wrote** Paper Man** and also worked on Warners' abandoned Justice League project, were reportedly already at work on a sequel screenplay before the first Holmes finished shooting, and Law seems reasonably confident that the detective's return is on a fast-ish track.
"I haven't been given the absolute... it's not like next week but I think it's sometime this year is what I get," says Law. "We had the best time, and we were also very aware that we had a hell of a lot more material to use. Conan Doyle wrote over fifty stories, and there was so much to take from. Once we knew it was doing well financially, we all started throwing in our ideas of where it could go and what should happen next."
We'll be very surprised if a few of those ideas don't directly address the interminable rumours of arch anti-Holmes Moriarty making a proper appearance... If Ritchie has his hands full with Excalibur though, will we be looking at a different director?
Steven Soderbergh's Contagion, on the other hand, will be a smaller workload for the actor. He says it's filming at the tail end of the year, and that as a small part of a large ensemble (Matt Damon, Marion Cotillard, Kate Winslett, Gwyneth Paltrow, Laurence Fishburne) he'll only be shooting for ten days.
Contagion is about the superfast spread of a worldwide pandemic, and Law says his character is "someone online, a blogger, who is kind of a fearmonger. And I just like the part. I really like the part.."
