Josh Hartnett wants to be the next Buffy. Okay, so he’s not a blonde former cheerleader with superpowers and a quick wit. But he has just signed on to 30 Days Of Night.
Based on Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith’s graphic novel classic, the plot will see Hartnett’s small-town Alaskan sheriff troubled by two arrivals – winter (which means the titular month-long blackout) and a gang of fang-owners ready to take advantage of the sun-free, all-you-can-eat human being buffet.
David Slade, the man who just brought us the dark, impressive Hard Candy, is behind the camera. He plans to start shooting in New Zealand in August, with a script penned by Stuart Beattie and Candy writer Brian Nelson.
