Danny McBride and writer/director Jody Hill have enjoyed some success collaborating on screens big and small. They have a new film bubbling away in their development cauldron and now Josh Brolin is set to co-star with McBride in **The Legacy Of A Whitetail Deer Hunter.

According to Deadline, the pair plus co-writer John Carcieri (who has worked with them on projects such as Observe And Report and HBO comedy Eastbound & Down) are keeping quiet about the potential plot for now. But unless they’re making a sudden, unexpected swing into dark science-fiction dystopia, we’d figure it’ll be another of their awkwardly funny spotlights of people who want more out of life, even as their attitudes let them down. Throwing the title into the magic Google box brings up a low-rent hunting video starring Roger Raglin, so there’s a chance he could be the inspiration.

Hill plans to direct, and Scott Rudin will co-produce alongside Hill and McBride’s Rough House production company. They’ve also been working on a new HBO project, Vice Principals, which focuses on some distinctly lacklustre educators.

Brolin, meanwhile, will next be seen in crime drama Sicario and mountaineering thriller Everest, which are currently both scheduled to arrive here on September 25, followed by the Coens’ new comedy, Hail, Caesar!, due out on February 26 next year.
