Josh Brolin For MIB 3?

File this one strictly in the "rumour' category for now, but The LA Times is reporting that Josh Brolin is being considered for a role in **Men In Black 3.

It's still early days, and the film itself is still very much at the development stage (no actual greenlight yet), but it has Tropic Thunder's Etan Cohen writing a script and Sony is hoping to grab Barry Sonnenfeld to direct again.

For now though, there's fun to be had speculating on who Brolin could play: he's a possible replacement for K should Tommy Lee Jones decide he's too old/grumpy/busy for all that alien hunting nonsense and would make a suitably different partner for Will Smith's J (again, assuming Smith agrees to return).

And as the Times points out, J spent some of MIB II with other partners (including the awesome Patrick "The Tick" Warburton) before Jones' character came out of retirement.

If Brolin is to join the cast, and the thing is going to shoot next year, scheduling might have to be worked out: the actor is already signed on to the Coen brothers' True Grit remake and Mafia drama Cartel.

Do you think he'd make a good agent? And do you actually want a third film? Let's not forget that the second one was definitely lacking…
