He hasn't explicitly offered his opinion on the great Scorsese/Marvel War of 2019, but Steven Soderbergh certainly seems to be aiming for MCU folk as the cast of his next film. He has Josh Brolin, Don Cheadle and Sebastian Stan all in talks for Kill Switch.
The script comes courtesy of Men In Black and Bill & Ted writer Ed Solomon, who cranked it out as a spec. Brolin, Cheadle and Stan would be criminals in 1950s Detroit who are hired to carry out a home invasion. But they begin to suspect that they might have been double-crossed, and the racial politics of the time come into play too.
No studio is attached, but given Soderbergh's present, the potential cast and the buzz that Solomon's script is generating, it seems certain to be snapped up before too long. Soderbergh has been throwing himself into work with gusto in the last few years, with a new movie, Let Them All Talk, due next year.
