Like the strange area the title describes, the director’s chair for the new Twilight Zone film has been a mysterious nexus of change and dashed expectations. The latest occupant looking to bring Rod Serling’s incredible world to life once more is Oblivion’s Joseph Kosinski{
The man who also made Tron Legacy is now in negotiations with Warner Bros. to direct the movie, which Leonardo DiCaprio has long been trying to get produced. While the plot details are strictly under wraps, writers have come and gone on the project, including** Sherlock Holmes**’ Anthony Peckham and Edge Of Tomorrow’s Joby Jarrold. Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes**' Matt Reeves was the most recent man in the director's chair.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Kosinski will develop the script further before the cameras roll, assuming he’s still aboard at that point and hasn’t been struck blind or discovered that his house is actually on Mars. But this announcement isn’t that shocking for anyone who read our interview with the man from this year’s WonderCon, as he’s always loved Serling’s telly masterpiece: “As a kid growing up I loved the Twilight Zone television series, the half hour episodes, with a small cast of characters, a very limited budget, and sometimes just a couple of sets. But somehow the stories had such big ideas, and big concepts to them that they always felt so much bigger than that show and even now they are a blast to watch.”
As for what this means for any future Tron instalment or Kosinski's long gestating Black Hole remake is anyone’s guess – but he’s still attached to both.
