Under the terms of his agreement with Netflix, Adam Sandler will produce four films for the streaming service, and the first has already been announced as resurrected comedy Western The Ridiculous Six. A big casting announcement arrived last month and we can now add Lost veteran Jorge Garcia to the list.
Sandler will be in the lead as a man who grew up an orphan raised by a Native American tribe with Taylor Lautner, Terry Crews, Rob Schneider, Luke Wilson and now Garcia as his half-brothers.
Nick Nolte is set as Sandler’s long-lost father, with Jon Lovitz as an industrialist and Whitney Cummings his wife. Chris Parnell will be a bank manager while Will Forte and Danny Trejo have been hired as leaders of two local rival gangs. Steve Buscemi’s set as a jack-of-all-trades, with Blake Shelton apparently Wyatt Earp and Vanilla Ice reportedly playing Mark Twain.
With a script co-written by Sandler and Tim Herlihy and Frank Coraci on board to direct, The Ridiculous Six will shoot in New Mexico starting this month. There’s no word yet on when Netflix will start offering the film.
