With a second season ordered before the first has even hit screens, Amazon's John Krasinski-starring Jack Ryan series is already building its cast. The latest recruits are Jordi Molla, Jovan Adepo, Cristina Umaña and Francisco Denis.
Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan (to give it its full title), follows the days of the character as a young CIA analyst, thrust for the first time into the action-packed world of tracking and taking down global terrorists and other criminals. Though it's not drawn from any specific Clancy tome, it does hit certain points, including the introduction of Cathy Mueller (Abbie Cornish), who will one day become his wife.
Season 2, which will retain just a few characters from the first, finds Ryan confronting the forces in power in a declining democratic regime in South America. Molla is Nicolas Reyes, the powerful and charismatic leader of the country, while Adepo will be a former special Navy crewman now working repairing boats. He's given a chance at some more action when an old colleague (perhaps our hero?) offers him a critical position in a covert operation.
Umaña will be Gloria Bonalde, a politician with a strong moral centre, and Denis is Ubarri, a senior government official in the country. They join a cast that already includes Noomi Rapace, Michael Kelly and John Hoogenakker.
With Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland running the show, Season 2 has yet to announce a date, but the first will be streaming on Amazon from 31 August.
