And for Jordan Peele's next trick... a Halloweeen treat! Following hot on the heels of producing Dev Patel's brilliantly bananas action epic Monkey Man, the Get Out and Us filmmaker took to Twitter/X yesterday to share an update on his next directorial outing. Originally set for a Christmas Day release this year before the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes put the stoppers on production, Peele has now revealed that his Nope follow-up for Universal will hit cinemas on 23 October, 2026. Check out the director's official confirmation of the new release date below;

A shroud of secrecy has surrounded Peele's latest project thus far, and as such, yesterday's announcement came with no further details on who'll be starring in the film, what it will be about, or even what it's set to be called. However, it wouldn't be a stretch to see that distinctly Halloween-y release date and surmise that Peele — whose proven himself quite the modern horror master with the terror-filled trifecta of Oscar-winning Get Out, the incendiary Us, and veritable Jaws-in-the-sky sci-fi blockbuster Nope — may be planning to put the frighteners on us once more with his fourth feature. After all, as a wise Brackett once said, "It's Halloween. Everyone's entitled to one good scare."

Despite there being a solid two years still to go before the horror auteur's back with a new big-screen bamboozler however, fans won't have to wait that long for more Peele related projects. Producing under his Monkey Paw banner, the multi-hyphenate moviemaker has Marlon Wayans-starrer Him on the way this September, and an as-yet-undated People Under The Stairs remake, too. And if that ain't enough for you, then there's also the horror auteur's exciting upcoming collaboration with legendary videogame creator Hideo Kojima on OD — which stars Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer and Udo Kier — to look forward to in the near future. And as for this mysterious 2026 Jordan Peele joint, we'll bring you more news on that front just as soon as we get it. Until then, we'll just have to keep our eyes, er, _Peele_d for updates (sorry)!
