Online film company Atom Films scored something of a coup this morning (27 September 2000) with the announcement that Spike Jonze has joined them as a creative adviser. In his role as consultant on 'creative directions and artistic relations' Jonze will use his influence and reputation to persuade other directors and artists to join the Atom family and create work to be broadcast on the internet. The award-winning director has thrown himself wholeheartedly into this, his latest project. Not only will Spike's existing short films be shown exclusively online at Atom Films but three new original short films by him will be premiered on the Atom site over the course of Jonze's two-year contract. 'I'm excited to be working with a company that helps filmmakers show their work without having to go through traditional distribution channels, said Spike.
