Jonathan Lipnicki Is Back Back Back

It’s been twelve years since Jonathan Lipnicki warmed our hearts as the impossibly cute bespectacled kid in Jerry Maguire. Twelve long years, in fact, and now Lipnicki is all growed up and making a bid for adult stardom.

No, not that kind of adult stardom. Instead, he’s attached to star in a psychological thriller called The Other Side Of Innocence, which is being sold at the American Film Market.

Lipnicki, who just turned eighteen in October (wonder if he voted?), would play a disturbed young man who becomes romantically entangled with the daughter of a small town detective while – dun dun DUNNNNNNN! – a serial killer is on the loose.

Devorah Cutler is attached to direct and share production duties with Rhonda Lipnicki, Jonathan’s mum. Robert Redlin wrote the screenplay.

It’s been a while since Lipnicki has appeared in a film – 2005’s The L.A. Riot Spectacular, according to our friends at the IMDb – but really he disappeared off the radar after Stuart Little 2. Some had been wondering if he’d given up acting altogether, but apparently he’s been going into a cocoon. We haven’t seen any recent pics, so we’re not sure if he’ll be able to cut the leading man mustard in any films that aren’t produced by his mum, but we’ll find out in due course.
