It had to happen. Chart-topping mop-headed promise-ring wearing teen superstars The Jonas Brothers had to make a feature film, but who knew that it would be called Walter The Farting Dog, or directed by the Farrelly Brothers?

Based on the popular series of children's books about the eponymous gas-plagued canine, the film will see the three better-known Jonases (that'd be Nick, Joe and Kevin) joined by their younger brother Frankie Jonas. The plot has it that their parents are left an overweight, flatulence prone dog by a deceased aunt, and it falls upon Frankie's character - who has sinus problems that mean he is spared the stench - to look after the animal while his brothers are off playing music and reducing tweenage girls to puddles of PG-rated lust. Along the way, Frankie and Walter become involved in a plot to "liberate a koi fish" and thwart jewel thieves. The mind boggles.

Keeping with the siblings theme, Peter and Bobby Farrelly are producing and look likely to direct, which means that, yes, the directors of Kingpin are set to work with the squeaky-clean Disney Channel stars. Filming is due to start in the spring for what Fox executives are hoping will be a franchise - writers Alex Sokolow and Joel Cohen (note the 'h') previously worked on the **Garfield **and Toy Story franchises, so they know their sequel-friendly onions.
