1987’s Adventures In Babysitting mightstill be waiting for its turn in the remake/sequel machine, but that doesn’t mean the subject can’t be mined for more comedy. Jonah Hill has just signed up to star in a different take on the idea, with David Gordon Green aiming to direct it.

The Sitter will see Hill’s college student suspended and living back at home with his single mother. He’s talked into baby-sitting the crazy kids next door and must endure a wild night with two boys and their hyperactive 8-year-old girl.

While it’s hardly the freshest concept, the script – which began life as a spec written by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka – has been attracting possible talent for years, with The Wackness’ Jonathan Levin considering directing it and both Zac Efron and Zach Galifianakis flirting with starring.

But now, with Hill and Gordon Green aboard, it finally looks like it’ll go before the cameras – but not until later in the year when they’re both available.
