The cast for the Kristen Wiig-scripted-and-starring, currently untitled wedding comedy is filling up fast, with Jon Hamm, Dianne Wiest and Matt Lucas all snatching roles.
Once known as Bridesmaids, the film will see a group of female friends vying to hold their pal (Maya Rudolph)’s bridal shower. Wiig’s playing the maid of honour, who faces challenges from other wedding party members such as Rose Byrne.
Though Production Weekly (via The Playlist Nation) offers no word on who the new arrivals will be appearing as, we’d wager Hamm will either be the groom or a handsome wedding guest who catches the eye of the leading ladies.
With Judd Apatow producing and his former Freaks & Geeks collaborator Paul Feig behind the camera, this is a real mash up of British and US comedians (the movie also boasts Chris O’Dowd from** The IT Crowd** and Ellie Kemper from the US version of The Office), and should hopefully be one to watch next year.
