Jon Favreau Assembles Marvel Stars For A… Cooking Show?

The Chef Show

These days, Jon Favreau is all caught up in the Disney fold. He kicked off the MCU with Iron Man, is hard at work on The Lion King live-action(ish) remake, and is overseeing the Star Wars series The Mandalorian on Disney+. But you might remember that back in 2014, he made a charming little comedy-drama called Chef – a passion project he wrote, directed and starred in, about a jaded restaurant chef rekindling his passion for cooking in a soul-food van. Well, now he’s following it up, in a way, with a Netflix reality series called The Chef Show – a cooking show where he teams up with celebrity chef Roy Choi to cook for a bunch of his mates.

Why is this of interest, you ask? Because Favreau’s mates are basically the Avengers, and if you look closely in the show’s first trailer, you’ll find him sitting down for a big meal with Robert Downey Jr., Tom Holland, the Russo brothers, and MCU head honcho Kevin Feige.

Those aren’t his only major guests either – he also has Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Rodriguez guesting across the first series. If you’re still heartbroken over Avengers: EndgameSPOILER WARNING – you can watch this and imagine that everything’s actually ok, Tony Stark is alive and well, and Happy has discovered a real flair for cooking. More officially in the MCU, we’ll next see Favreau in Spider-Man: Far From Home, starring alongside Holland.

You’ll be able to drool over The Chef Show when it hits Netflix on 7 June.
