Though he usually specialises in high concept action films and thrillers, Luc Besson has nevertheless always been able to attract solid star wattage to take on the lead roles. And one of his upcoming projects appears to be no different, with Angelina Jolie reportedly in talks to star.
Very little else is known about the film (not even the title), aside from the fact that it’s apparently a big-scale thriller that has its roots in true scientific elements. Who votes for an action-packed techfest set around the Large Hadron Collider?
Besson, who has been shepherding more projects as a producer these days, has written and plans to direct this one once he’s finished doing the press rounds for his last directing gig, high-profile biopic The Lady.
Jolie, meanwhile, is busy pimping her own writing/directing/producing job, Bosnian war drama In The Land Of Blood And Honey. She’s got various future projects vying for her attention including the big new take on Cleopatra, Sleeping Beauty-adjacent fantasy Maleficent and Ridley Scott’s Gertrude Bell drama, but from the sounds of Deadline’s report, Jolie would make the Besson film her next priority if the deal is sealed.
