Disney’s romantic comedy You Again – the latest flick from Race To Witch Mountain director, avid Empire reader and all-round nice guy, Andy Fickman – has just bolstered its cast with the addition of a group of kick-ass ladies who could give the Fox Force Five a run for their money.
Kristin Chenoweth, Jamie Lee Curtis, the resurgent Betty White and Odette Yustman have joined a cast that was already doing pretty damn well in the oestrogen stakes, thanks to the presence of Kristen Bell and Sigourney Weaver.
In case you weren’t aware, the comedy stars Bell as a woman whose brother is marrying her old high school nemesis – so, naturally, she sets out to discredit her rival. Hilarity ensues.
Yustman, who must be delighted to be taking a break from screaming her lungs out in the likes of Cloverfield and The Unborn, will play Bell’s bete noire, while Curtis and the also freshly-cast Victor Garber will play Bell’s parents. Chenoweth, fresh from the cancelled Pushing Daisies, will play a wedding ‘extraordinator’, whatever the hell that is, and ex-**Golden Girl **White will play Bell’s grandmother.
Mou Jelline wrote the screenplay for a movie that could well be a companion piece to My Best Friend’s Wedding, should all the pieces fall in the right order. Shooting is scheduled to begin later this summer in L.A.
