Proving that there's nothing like going back to your roots, Johnny Depp is heading back into horror territory a full 19 years after his first brush with the scary supernatural side of life in his breakthrough flick, A Nightmare on Elm Street. Obviously nostalgic for the time when he was Freddy Kruger's most famous victim, Depp's now tackling a tale from that ubermeister of horror, Stephen King, called Secret Window, Secret Garden. Teaming up with Panic Room scribe and Stir of Echoes director David Koepp, Depp will play the tale's central character of a writer who while suffering a painful divorce, must cope with a psychotic stranger turning up on his doorstep accusing him of a spot of plagiarism. A witty, atmospheric and down right odd piece on the page, let's just hope this one follows the tradition set by such fantastic Stephen King adaptations as The Shining and Stand By Me. It would do Depp well to remember that for every Misery, there's also been a Pet Sematary or two. Horror, indeed.
Here’s Johnny!
