Hiroyuki Sanada has been a typically busy actor of late, and now he's going for the 87Eleven action double-punch, following up David Leitch's Bullet Train with Chad Stahelski's John Wick: Chapter 4.
According to Collider, which confirmed the casting, Sanada's role is a mystery for now, though we do know he's apparently called Watanabe (wonder if Ken Watanabe will be cast shortly as a man named Sanada?)
Stahelski has built quite the ensemble around returning ass-kicker Keanu Reeves for this new instalment: Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson and Rina Sawayama are all aboard, while Bill Skarsgård is in talks to join.
Shay Hatten and Michael Finch wrote the script for the film, which promises to delve into Wick's past as well as catch up with his perilous current situation. The cameras will crank and the fists/bullets fly this summer in Germany, France and Japan.
