It turns out all those myths about John Wick – the boogeyman, Baba Yaya – being unstoppable are entirely true. Fresh from dethroning Thanos at the US box office with John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Keanu Reeves’ unstoppable hitman is confirmed to return in 2021 for another instalment of the hugely popular action series. Yeah, we’re thinking he’s back… again.
Lionsgate has dated John Wick: Chapter 4 for 21 May 2021 – yes, exactly two years from today – so Keanu won’t have long before he’s back on the shooting range, gearing up for his next set of jaw-dropping stunts and set pieces. Here’s hoping director Chad Stahelski has a stack of fight scene ideas to up the ante on Chapter 3’s incredible book-fu, horse-fu, and dog-fu sequences. Bird-fu? Kite-fu? Bike-fu? On second thought, we’ll leave that up to the experts.

Of course, if you were expecting Chapter 3 to round off the trilogy with a clean sense of closure, that isn’t what Stahelski had in mind. Just as Chapter Two set up the threequel, the latest entry delivers another tantalising tease of where it all goes next – a battered and bruised Wick, teaming up with the equally battered and bruised Bowery King, both thoroughly pissed off with the High Table. Has Winston really turned his back on Wick in order to remain at the head of the Continental? Is it all some kind of big misunderstanding? Expect answers when Chapter 4 pummels the big screen into a fine pulp two years from now.
