It's common these days for movies of varying sizes to head back for additional photography, usually to boost certain scenes and capture shots/scenes that the filmmakers need to help tell the story. Marvel, in particular, schedules extra filming time and makes sure the cast is available. It's rare, though, that we hear so specifically about the content or those involved. But according to The Hollywood Reporter, John Wick regular director and stunt veteran Chad Stahelski will be helping Birds Of Prey's Cathy Yan to add more action to the pic.
Stahelski's involvement is not surprising; his 87 Eleven action design company has been working on the movie from the start, developing the set pieces and training the cast. The Wick and Matrix veteran won't take a credit for his additional work – he doesn't tend to step in as much these days, given his busy own career – but he'll work with Yan on new scenes with the likes of star Margot Robbie.
The film finds Robbie's Harley Quinn working with other female heroes including Mary Elizabeth Winstead's Huntress and Jurnee Smollett-Bell's Black Canary take down the evil of Ewan McGregor's Black Mask. A 7 February release date for the film, whose full title is Birds Of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn) remains on the books.
