Baba Yaga. The boogeyman. John Wick. Whatever you want to call him, he’s back — and he’s down for war. Keanu Reeves’ hard-as-nails assassin found himself in the sights of every contract killer in the entire world (!) by the end of John Wick: Chapter 2, and it sounds like that’s being reflected in the trilogy-capper’s title. Rather than receiving the expected Chapter 3 subtitle, Reeves recently confirmed a more eccentric name for the next film.
Speaking to ComingSoon.net, the star claimed that the official title is John Wick 3: Parabellum — a Latin-inspired phrase meaning ‘prepare for war’. "It’s part of that famous sentence, ‘Si vis pacem, para bellum,’ which translates as, ‘If you want peace, prepare for war,” Reeves explained. The film is currently shooting, with the likes of Halle Berry, Asia Kate Dillon, Anjelica Huston and Jason Mantzoukas joining the cast. Returning from the last outing are Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, and Lance Reddick.
John Wick 3: Parabellum is set for a 17 May release next year, with director Chad Stahelski once again on board.
