After today's GoodFellas story and in related Goombah rumours (which we suppose would be rumbahs, but that makes it sound like we’re writing about robo-vacuum cleaners), John Gotti Jr, son of Gambino crime family head John Gotti Sr, has announced that he’s setting up the film rights to his father’s story.
Why now? He’s looking to tell his side, apparently. "During the past 20 years, there have been numerous made-for-television movies, books and other representations about me, my father and our family," Gotti Jr. says in a statement. "None of these projects were done in cooperation with my family and in most cases did not accurately reflect our lives. This film will not be a mob expose, but rather the true story of my life and relationship with my father."
There were rumours back in June aboutSylvester Stallone possible getting together with Gotti the younger to make the movie, but nothing seems to have come of that. Besides, would any studio really want to get involved in the legal challenges surrounding the Gotti family? We’ll see...
