Back in February, it was announced that Michael B. Jordan would join Margot Robbie and Christian Bale in David O. Russell's new film. Clearly, that deal didn't quite work out, as Tenet's John David Washington is now aboard instead.
Russell has been keeping his latest under wraps for a while beyond the casting – no plot details or even the title have been release yet – but we do know it'll look good, as Oscar-winning cinematographer Emmanuel “Chivo” Lubezki is part of the filmmaking team. The original intent had been to kick off filming in April, though obviously didn't happen, and Russell now has production in LA this January in his sights. It would mark the first time he's been in the director's chair since 2015's Joy.
In addition to Tenet, Washington has been seen in films such as BlacKkKlansman, The Old Man And The Gun and the upcoming Malcom & Marie, which was shot during the pandemic and will now debut on Netflix.
