Despite his ugly past rearing its head again in recent times, Roman Polanski is going full-speed ahead on his next project, an adaptation of Yasmina Reza’s award-winning play God of Carnage. And now he’s added the considerable acting chops of John C. Reilly to the cast.
Likely expanding the plot for its cinematic version, the film version of **God Of Carnage **will follow two sets of parents who meet when their kids get into trouble fighting at school. But the youngsters’ squabble is nothing compared to the emotional (and physical) fireworks that fly between the adults.
Christoph Waltz and Kate Winslet are playing one side of the dramatic rumble, with Reilly taking over from Matt Dillon on the other, as Jodie Foster’s husband.
Polanski will be shooting this January in Paris, and the role should give Reilly a chance to get back into solid drama work after a successful run in the comedy field.
